What is it all about?

Youth Injected 2004’ is about young people injecting their creative talents and ideas into the community.Youth Injected 2004 will involve a series of activities organised by community organisations, high schools and young people to celebrate and recognise young people in Wynnum-Manly area. The Youth Injected 2004 Project will incorporate the Youth Injected 2004 Website, and the Youth Injected 2004 Event.

Competitions

Great competitions and prizes will be happening throughout the Youth Injected Project, such as:
  • Skateboarding competition
  • Battle of the Bands
  • More to come!

Skate and Bike Competition

Enter the Skate and Bike competition held on Saturday 3rd April at Lota Skate Park.

Register on the day, from 11am.

Skating Comp Age group categories:

  • 13 and under
  • 16 and under
  • 17 and over
  • Girls comp also!!

Bike Comp Age group categories:

  • 16 and under
  • 17 and over

Prizes include a top-of-the-line skateboard from GenR8, t-shirts, caps, City Beach $50 voucher, and heaps more!!

Battle of the Bands Competition

Enter the Battle of the Bands competition held on 3rd April 2004 at Lota Skate Park, and win great prizes!

Entry is open to all residents or school students aged between 12 and 22 years of age. Entries close 6.00pm 1st of March 2004.

It is possible that a practice run might occur before the event, and if so, you will need to be available.

As well as great prizes, the winners will get the opportunity to play at the Visible Ink Festival on 17th April 2004 in King George Square.

Youth Injected Event – Saturday 3rd April 2004

The Youth Injected Event will be on Saturday 3rd April 2004 and suggestions for the day include:

  • Youth Injected Skateboarding Competition
  • Youth Injected Legal Street Art displays/workshops
  • Youth Injected Battle of the Bands
  • Youth Injected Speak Out
  • Youth Displays and Performances
  • Youth Writers Competition
  • Aerosol Art workshops
  • Polynesian Dance and Singers
  • Traditional and Contempary Aboriginal Dance
  • Break-dance Demo
  • Art Exhibition and Boomerang Painting for Kids
  • The event will be held at Lota Skate Park.

  • Share your ideas
  • Organise a cool youth event in Wynnum/Manly
  • Promote Youth Week activities in Wynnum/Manly
  • Design a home grown Youth Injected website
  • Have a Voice on issues of concern
  • Talk to young people in the Wynnum-Manly to get feedback, input and ideas for Youth Injected 2004
  • Express individuality and diversity
  • Celebrate young people's contribution to the Community

All interested and enthusiastic young people are invited to attend fortnightly meetings and get involved in this years youth week activities in Wynnum/Manly.
